Hard Week

We are already in the middle of week three in Cambodia and are coming to the end of our ministry here. It has been and very relaxing month full of sweet moments. But it hasn’t been the easiest with the slow paced environment and the abundant amount of free time I’ve had a lot of time to think and be by myself trying to find the best ways to fill my time. Week two in Cambodia was a very hard week for me. I had already been in Cambodia for one week and we had just got a routine going and I was loving it here, I felt so blessed to be put in such an amazing little village with such an amazing team. But once the weekend hit and we went to Phnom Penh, I became very homesick. All of the alone/free time had caused very unhealthy thoughts and lies to fill my head and my time. I am very grateful to have such amazing women around me who speak truth and life into me constantly and are always up to talk through anything. When I was in High school my mom would always remind me of the verse Isaiah 43:2 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” in a week when I did not feel God I was reminded of this verse constantly. I started watching the church services from home that I had missed and I am so amazed how God speaks exactly what I need to hear through my church 8,000 miles away. How songs that have been on my phone for months suddenly bring so much peace. Although this week was hard I learned that its ok to lean on people and walk through struggles with people. I also learned to press in and lean into God. I am still working on hearing God and drowning out the lies of satan but we are getting closer everyday and it is better now.

What a great piece of writing. I love how you are sharing your heart. “A pain shared is Divided, a Joy shared is Multiplied!” We love you and are so very proud of you Rosie. When you start hearing those voices, go back and rest on God’s truth. The Truth is the Truth and feelings are just feelings. I can’t wait to see you and hear some more of your awesome stories!! Thanks for sharing, Rose!! It is during the hardest times that we grow!! Like hiking, the journey/climb is worth all the hard work when we see He glorious view at the end!! Can’t believe your time in Cambodia is almost over!! Miss and love you like crazy!!
